What each piece of equipment is

What boilermaking involves
Boilermaking is the trade of building equipment from steel plate, pipe and sections: marking out, cutting, forming by rolling and bending, fitting up and welding. The people who do the marking out and forming are boilermakers or platers, and on many jobs they weld as well.
Materials
We fabricate in carbon steel and in stainless steel. Stainless is chosen when the product or the environment attacks carbon steel, or when the surface has to stay clean.
The material of an item is set by its design: it depends on the fluid, the temperature and the working pressure. Give us those details and we will tell you whether we can build it in that material.

Pressure vessels and the regulations
A pressure vessel is not judged by its welds alone. Design, materials, fabrication and inspection all carry requirements that depend on the applicable standard and on the vessel’s category.
In the European Union, pressure equipment falls under the Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU, PED). Depending on the category, the manufacturer assesses conformity itself or a notified body is involved. If the vessel will be installed in Spain or Portugal, it is the EU directive that applies, not the UK regulations.
