What industrial maintenance services cover
Industrial maintenance is the work that keeps a plant, its equipment and its pipework running safely: inspecting, servicing, repairing and replacing parts. Its aim is for the plant to stop as little as possible.
Types of maintenance
The most common classification has three types.
- Corrective: repairs the equipment after it has failed.
- Preventive: inspects and replaces parts on a schedule, to head off the failure.
- Predictive: measures the condition of the equipment, for example vibration or temperature, and steps in when the readings call for it.

Plant shutdowns
A shutdown, also called a turnaround, is a planned stop of a plant to inspect, repair or modify it. It is when you do the work that cannot be done while the plant is running.
Every day of shutdown is production lost, so it is planned well ahead and has an end date. If you have a shutdown coming up, tell us the dates and the scope as early as you can.
