Industrial pipework: installation and pipe welding
We install and weld industrial pipework in plants across Spain and Portugal, working from Les Franqueses del Vallès, in the province of Barcelona. We can send pipe fitters and pipe welders to your site, or take the pipework on as work to order.

What industrial pipework is
Industrial pipework is the system of pipes, fittings, valves and supports that carries fluids and gases between the equipment in a plant: process lines, steam, compressed air, water and utilities. It is built from isometric drawings, cut and fitted on site and welded joint by joint.
The pipework jobs we take on
- Installation: setting out, supporting, fitting up and aligning pipe runs, valves and fittings in the plant
- Pipe welding: each joint, once the run has been fitted up and aligned

Welding pipe that is already in place
Installed pipe cannot be turned, so the welder has to weld it in the position it is in. That is why pipe welder qualifications distinguish positions, and why asking for a pipe welder means asking for someone qualified for those positions.
Pipe welding shares its processes, materials and qualifications with the rest of industrial welding.
Pipe fitters and pipe welders: on your site or to order
We can work in two ways.
- Pipe fitters and pipe welders on your site: they join your team for as long as the job lasts, for example during a shutdown or an extension.
- Pipework to order: you give us the drawings or isometrics and we take care of the installation and the welding.
Pipework fabrication
Pipework fabrication is cutting, bevelling, fitting and welding pipe and fittings into spools that are then installed. It can be done in a workshop or directly on site.

Pipework codes and testing
The design code for a pipework system is set by the project. In Europe, EN 13480 is widely used for metallic industrial piping, and ASME B31.3 for process piping.
The code and the category of the installation may also call for non-destructive testing of the welds and a pressure test before the pipework goes into service.

Frequently asked questions
What is industrial pipework?
Industrial pipework is the system of pipes, fittings, valves and supports that carries fluids and gases between equipment in a plant. It is installed to drawings and welded or bolted together joint by joint.
What is pipework fabrication?
Pipework fabrication is cutting, bevelling, fitting and welding pipe and fittings into prefabricated sections called spools. The spools are then installed and joined up on site.
What does a pipe fitter do?
A pipe fitter sets out the route, prepares and cuts the pipe, joins it, most often by welding or flanges, and leaves it installed. They read drawings and isometrics and take part in the pressure test. A pipe fitter who also welds is a pipe fitter-welder, or pipe welder.
